FlowMap

FlowMap is the sitemap and URL engine for Joomla 5 and 6. It builds an inventory of the URLs your site actually serves, publishes them as segmented XML sitemaps at /sitemap.xml, and gives you a browsable public directory of the same data.

Most sitemap extensions generate a file. FlowMap maintains an inventory - it knows which URLs exist, which ones changed, and which ones need re-announcing, and it keeps the sitemap, the page cache and your social metadata in step with each other rather than letting them quietly drift apart.

What FlowMap Does:

• Segmented XML sitemaps served at /sitemap.xml, split by type so a large site does not ship one enormous file.
• A URL inventory that tracks what the site publishes, rebuilt on a schedule by its own task plugin.
• Redirects and 404 tracking, so broken links surface as data rather than as complaints.
• Social metadata and share images, resolved once and kept in step with the page cache.
• Control over what belongs in the map: exclusion patterns, custom URLs, ignored query parameters and first-party host rules.
• A public browsable directory of the same inventory, for readers and crawlers that want a human-readable index.

FlowMap installs as a package: the component plus the serve, scheduled task, error tracking and cache purge plugins. The parts that need to work together are already wired when you install it.
