How To Make Sure Your Sponsored Content Still Has Soul

I'll admit it ... I was once a firm advocate of the "old way" of doing PR. You know, that practice of reaching out with what you know is an earth-shattering piece of news and hoping that the media would be willing to write about it and share how awesome your brand is. Sadly those days are long over and we live in a new media paradigm where professional media organizations have been largely replaced with bloggers and even those that still exist tend to rely heavily on sponsored content.

Mexico's New Cruise Tax: Finding Balance Between Revenue and Tourism Growth

Mexico's recent move to implement a $42 per passenger cruise tax marks a significant shift in how it approaches the cruise industry and tourism in general. Historically, while Mexico has applied head taxes to hotel guests staying for extended periods, cruise passengers making brief port calls have been exempt from these fees. This new legislation, currently under Senate review, would eliminate this long-standing exemption and could reshape the cruise industry's relationship with Mexican ports.

The Enduring Value of Long-Form Content in an Ephemeral Social Media World

After more than two decades in digital content creation, I've watched countless social media platforms rise and fall while consistently seeing one truth remain: quality long-form content continues to deliver value long after viral social posts have faded into digital obscurity.

What Do Gen Z Travelers Think About Cruising And Where Do They Want To Go Next?

Us older (Gen X) folks probably think of cruising as something we're increasingly drawn to but ultimately an industry that our parents are obsessed with ... and increasingly critical of as more and more "young kids" disrupt their quiet, formal, traditional cruise experiences. The good news for them is that river cruises and small ship ocean cruises are picking up the slack while the younger generations are increasingly falling in love with life on the open ocean.

With that being said, let's as our 21 year old Gen Z friend Madison what she and her friends think about cruising ... "Yo, cruise life is absolutely epic for crushing it with the boys! Forget what you heard about cruises being lame - these floating cities are perfect for squad adventures. We're talking island bar crawls in the Caribbean, hitting up secret beaches, and finding those hidden spots that'll blow up your social feeds. My crew is obsessed with those Nordic cruises through the fjords - imagine cracking cold ones while passing massive ice walls and catching the Northern Lights. Plus, these ships are basically party central with pools, sports bars, and crazy good food 24/7. You can wake up in a new country every day without dealing with hotel bookings or expensive flights.

Best part? Everything's sorted - food, entertainment, travel between spots - which means more time for epic activities with the boys. Mediterranean cruises are fire too - dock in Greece one day, Italy the next, crushing plates of food and finding those spots nobody else knows about. Value for money is insane when you split costs, and you're not stuck in one place. That's the move right there. Alaska's also massively underrated for guy trips - think helicopter rides to glaciers, salmon fishing, and hitting up local breweries in port towns. The ships have gotten way cooler too, with stuff like race car tracks, surf simulators, and rooftop bars perfect for the squad."
